Perhaps one of Nashville's best kept secrets is our airport's Arts at the Airport program. Last February, I featured local artist Lisa Ernst here. If you're flying through BNA from now until December 5, or traveled through there since September 14, Lisa Ernst's calm yet colorful paintings are gracing the North Side Ticketing Lobby. Her current exhibit, including the "Calla Collage," above, includes a seven painting 9 x 9 installation. This Wednesday, Oct. 6, 4-6 p.m., Ernst and four other artists will be highlighted at an airport reception.
Oh, that's so pretty... Art like that is a breath of fresh air, or to be more exact, a splash of color that brightens up the usual airport environment. It certainly helps when you're out there waiting for your flight!

Ick! The traffic was horrible. The parking & airport construction atrocious and I was so rattled by the later that I lost my parking ticket. But I waiting out the ticket people and avoided a $23 day's parking fee....All said, Lisa's work was harmonious, flowing; bright, yet soothing. I see what she is sought after for hospital settings....

Hello, Charlotte! Yes, lucky you. You get to see these more than those of us who do not travel as frequently as you do.

I missed Lisa's exhibit when I recently came through the Nashville airport, but there's also an amazing exhibit of quilts on one of the concourses. Lisa's work looks fantastic, and this is a great program.
