Warhol Live: Music and Dance in Andy Warhol’s Work opens in Nashville's Frist Center for the Visual Arts June 24 through Sept. 11, 2011.
The exhibition, organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in partnership with the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, unites more than 220 works and objects, including paintings, silkscreen prints, photographs, works on paper, installations, films, videos and album covers, as well as objects and documents from Warhol’s personal archives. Warhol’s love of music and dance provides an essential narrative element, guiding visitors as they rediscover this seminal Pop artist’s work. There's even a painting of country music’s Dolly Parton in the exhibition. It's fitting that today’s Music City, with its own plethora of genres animating the already vibrant music scene, is a venue for Warhol Live.

Oh, my. When I reposted this exhibit here on the next to last day, I just realized I never responded to this comment. It was during my incredibly busy summer of everything converging, my move, Grace's overwhelming summer, getting settled, etc. Thanks for sharing that store. How cool!

Just for fun: Not long before this show opened at the Frist I saw an episode of Antique Road Show where a lady was wondering about a Warhol work. She had in her possession from the 60's a poster advertising a Warhol show. It turns out that he had done all the posters/announcements for the show and so her poster was worth quite a bit!
I definitely think it is worth considering the lives, minds and hearts of artists. God has blessed us through so many differences!
